DARC - Transformance

12pm
Matthews Yard: Gallery

Transformance  is  a  process  of  artistic  exchange  and  creation  in  which  live  performance,  documentation,  translation  and  transformation  meet.  The  project  seeks  to  blur  the  lines  between  live  performance  and  documentation.  The  aim  is  to  generate  a  hybridised  live  practice  by  creating  and  responding  together  through  a  variety  of  disciplines  including  photography,  video,  drawing,  writing,  performance  and  alternative  forms  of  documentation.    At  Tempting  Failure,  the  collective  will  present  an  installation  of  the  multifaceted  documentation  created  during  their  Transformance  sessions  with  the  participating  artists.

Adam  York  Gregory  &  Gillian  Jane  Lees  - Strike

6-10pm
Matthews Yard: Gallery

In  a  totally  dark  room,  a  performer  will  attempt  to  construct  40  electrical  lights  in  4  hours  using  only  match  light  as  they  connect  bulbs,  wires  and  plugs.    When  each  light  is  finished  it  is  plugged  into  a  socket  that  is  operated  by  an  electrical  timer  switch.  After  four  hours  the  switch  will  activate  and  the  space  will  be  illuminated.  The  illumination  correlates  to  the  performers  success  and  ability  to  perform  the  task.  Darkness  denotes  a  failure  of  the  task.

Lori Baldwin - The Villages

7pm
The Spread Eagle Pub Theatre

The Villages sets the conditions for an intimate encounter. It’s a request, an experiment, a proposal. It highlights the connection that is created in subversive and explicit power dynamics and the physical actions that accompany them. The piece offers an alternative intimacy that can be experienced in and through a specific frame. The Villages explores what happens when BDSM practices are carried out in a public performative setting; when we deal with our bodies as they are in the present.

ANERHLOD - LEIBNIZ - Transfusion: A Collective Act of Remembrance

8:30pm
The Spread Eagle Pub Theatre

Transfusion: A Collective Act of Remembrance combines a live performance of ANERHLOD’s Blood (2017; based on the tripartite physiology of blood and the recursive nature of the circulatory system) with a pre-written but unrehearsed performance score (to be composed and facilitated by Fischer and Spackman; based on re-membered fragments - actions, images, objects &/or words - drawn primarily from The Book of Blood : Human (w)Rites, an ongoing, participatory arts project conceived by Fischer and initiated by LEIBNIZ in 2005 that explores issue of human rights in collaboration with host venues and their local communities.
